We never met a dog we didn’t love. With their wet kisses, wagging tails and the unconditional way they welcome you with excitement, a dog always knows how to make everyone feel like family. You’ll likely find one of these gregarious greeters in the vineyard, delighting workers and visitors alike. This wine is dedicated to our own beloved winery dog, Pip, and we hope it brings you as much joy as she brings to our family.
The grapes for this Merlot were harvested from vines planted 23 years ago in Lake County, California. Immediately after harvest, grapes were moved to stainless-steel tanks to ferment on organic, non-GMO selected yeast for 2 days of cold soak, followed by 6-8 days of fermentation on the skins before pressing. It was then aged 5 or more months in 100% stainless-steel tanks and bottled, unfined and unfiltered.
DID YOU KNOW? Merlot is translated to "little blackbird" in French. This beautiful purple grape is the 2nd most planted grape variety in the world and is not only used as a blending grape with Cabernet Sauvignon, but it’s also its sibling parent grape Cabernet Franc!
