Puglia is the Heel of the Boot in Italy, a place where the sun continuously shines and where incredibly delicious wines are produced. This unique blend of Montepulciano and Nero di Troia combine to create juicy plum and fig notes with layers of earthy, balsamic, herbaceous flavors. The bold and beautiful texture matched with great acidity make this a perfect wine for Pizza night or watching Italian football!
Che Fico. You say it, “KAY-fee-koh,” and it’s Italian for “How Cool!” As in, “Wine from the heel of the boot in Italy? Che Fico!”
For this Puglia Rosso, grapes were hand-harvested from vines planted 20-25 years ago in Puglia, Italy. After harvest, they were put into stainless steel-tanks to ferment for 1 week. Wine is then aged in concrete vessels for 10 months before bottling.
DID YOU KNOW? Nero di Troia means “The Black Grape of Troy” and originated in Ancient Greece. This grape was brought over by the Trojans when they landed in Puglia thousands of years ago.
